YOUTH EXCHANGE “MY FRIENDSHIP WITH THE PLANET”, JUNE 11-21, 2022, LODZ, POLAND.

Between 11-21 of July 2022 a group of youngsters with their leader have represented NECI Cyprus in a Youth Exchanges “My friendship with the planet” (Erasmus+ Programme) organized by Edu4You in Lodz, Poland.

Cypriot team had the opportunity, along with participants from Poland, Italy, Turkey, and Czech Republic, to learn and share their knowledge about important topics as Climate change, Environment and Biodiversity, Recycling, Food waste, Bio products and smart consumption, Ecologic transport, Air and water pollution and other issues which affect our planet, Earth.

During the activity period they had the chance to participate in different workshops which enriched their knowledge about the environment and the ecologic issues the humanity is facing. They had the opportunity to visit the Sewage Plant of Lodz where they witnessed the water recycling process. Visiting the Lodz Botanical Garden was another great experience as they learned about various local species of plants. The participants had the chance to make research and share facts about the different climate and environment issues regarding the countries they were coming from.

All the participants had to work in international teams to write articles through which they raised awareness about the ecological catastrophe because of human activity. It was one of the most challenging activities.

As a last activity was organizing a campaign through which the participants had to present to the public the solutions which would mitigate the climate change.
